Why you’re here …
If you are a parent looking for honest encouragement, outside-of-the-box ideas and fun activities to do with your kids ~ you will find it all here!  If you are a work-in-progress like me … we will get along beautifully.

I share tactile learning, intentional parenting, and growing faith posts.

About this site …
Blogging has been a great outlet for me to share my heart for making quality time a priority.  Here you will be sure to find:

About Me …

My faith and family are the most important things in my life and I am purposeful to enjoy them.  It is not easy.  I am married to a busy traveling golf course architect, and I get to spend a lot of time with my kids.  A lot.  In my spare 2 minutes I like to play tennis, learn more about organic living and getting healthy, take nature walks and snap random photos!

Work at Home …

I started homeschooling and blogging in 2008 and it has been a great adventure.

I created The Homeschool Village in 2010 and maintained the community for two years.

In 2012 I lead a 2:1 Conference breakout session on Biblically Cultivating Online Community and shared homeschool tips during the Super Homeschoolers interviews.

In late 2012, I joined The Happy Housewife team as the Homeschool Community Manager.  I write monthly (homeschool) newsletters as well as update The Happy Housewife (homeschool) Pinterest Boards.

Also in 2012 I joined Cheryl Pitt as Conference Coordinator for the Titus 2:1 Conference.

In early 2013 I was hired by Compass Classroom to help promote the site and products to the homeschool community.

Educating Laytons averages 12,000+ monthly pageviews.  Printables have been featured on Money Saving Mom, and Free Homeschool Deals.  Contact Stef for a media kit.

NOW … Meet all the Laytons

“Hubs” is a traveling golf course architect.  When he’s not on the road he’s creating fun family outings.  Hubs enjoys golf, wakeboarding, running, and reading.  And he may or may not be the best cook in the house.

“Little Man”
was born in 2007 – he is as stubborn as his momma.  He loves the color blue and Power Rangers.  He is a snuggler by nature, tactile and auditory learner, and enjoys Letter of the Week fun.

“The Boy” was born in 2003.  He is the first of our “miracle babies”, and has greatly stretched ideas of what homeschool “should” look like.  He is a tactile visual learner, and loves all things Star Wars and Superheroes.  Because of his love for hands-on learning fun I created a weekly link up Tactile Tuesday to inspire and encourage other families to try tactile projects.

We have one daughter, Clare, in heaven.
