I was looking for an old math post when I ran across a post from Oct 2011. Maybe you’ll enjoy a reminder of encouragement! Go check it out! It’s worth the read!
8th Annual Homeschool Blog Awards
Thanks for nominating me for the 8th Annual Homeschool Blog Awards!
I have had a love hate relationship with blog awards for many years now, because there are so many excellent blogs out there we don’t need to call one the best.
I truly believe if you are thriving in your gifts – your blog shines. You don’t need an award … you are making a difference! Your obedience to His calling is blessing others!
But as much as I nag about awards y’all keep nominating me.
Silly, goofy, weird me who likes to get down on the floor and take pictures of her kid’s homeschool projects. Well … Thank You!
8th Annual Homeschool Blog Awards
Best Nitty Gritty Homeschool Blog (basically I rat myself out and feature our failures, but all in hopes of encouraging you that you don’t have to be perfect. Phew!!)
Best Homeschooling Nature / Field Trip (it’s really not fair that hubs travels so often, but we sure do love our field trips)
Be sure to vote for your favorite bloggers (You may vote once PER DAY (in ALL categories) per device or computer.) How crazy is that? Voting ends November 16th!
20 Categories and a ton of blogs per category can I just say I’m stoked to have so many homeschool resources, ideas, and encouraging friends out there?! Thank You!
The 2:1 Homeschool Conference – why you should go!
Are you making plans for 2013 conferences? You should consider the Titus 2:1 Homeschool Conference!
10 Reasons Why You Should Go to the 2:1 Homeschool Conference
God’s Voice The weekend was all about God’s Voice in our hearts – not our latests book release. Not an interview about how I wrote, published, and promoted my mega ebook / blog / whatever following. It was all about what God is doing in our hearts, our families, and in our lives. The focus is 100% on Him!
Fellowship! The weekend was such a blast and everyone was able to mingle, help, and encourage one another. And when I mean “everyone”, I mean there was no caste system. Speakers are not separated from attendees – they are attendees! Sponsors are not shoved in some back corner – they are attendees! Small bloggers aren’t sitting alone at tables – they are the attendees. It’s a wonderful equal playing field of Christ-loving attendees!
Experience Key-note speakers were not standing up fresh off the bus sharing what just worked for them last season. You had Rachael Carmen, Rebecca Ingram Powell, and Heidi St. John veterans standing shining His Glory and leading the path for homeschool moms to make homeschool a bid deal (not our blogs).
Affordable I was a break out speaker so I didn’t have to really pay much for this conference. I usually always seek out partial sponsorships for any conference. But 2:1 has purposefully tried to make this conference not only relevant to homeschool bloggers but also affordable to single-income families. Which are most homeschoolers! Why make a homeschooler break their piggy bank? A conference that is concerned for you to be there and makes it possible for you to go … I appreciate that!
Gifts No, not the swag (but there is nice swag too), the fact that 2:1 believes everyone there has unique gifts and we can all use them for His glory. Meaning … you don’t have to be a keynote speaker to help someone else. Ladies gathered together around tables showing one another something new, something helpful — and they weren’t wearing fancy speaker name badges! <– actually we even wore pjs one night!
Of course – my five other reasons can fit any blog conference. (weekend away, no cooking, no preschool interruptions, refreshment, time on the potty … if you’re not sharing a million friends to a room).
So I tried to think of 5 great things that are so unique to my experience to the 2:1 Conference … and God showed me the blessing of 5 great women I adore!
Ashley - we’ve known each other for two years and thankfully this conference made our friendship better.
Dianna - even though she didn’t want to attend my conference (ouch) she did and it blessed her socks off! mine too!
Marci – another year to reconnect with my “old boss”. Weekends with Marci are always priceless.
Aurie – she’s lovely, helpful, and so sweet. 2:1 cultivated our friendship.
Colleen - I finally got to meet my blog stalker (just kidding) I’m her stalker! The conference provided a wonderful atmosphere to cultivate monitor-stifled relationships into lovely real friendships.

There are so many more woman I am thankful to have met! 2:1 is unlike most conferences – this is a community!
I hope you’ll consider joining us and attending The 2:1 Conference.
I had such a fun time being a break out speaker last year and look forward to my role there in 2013. Oh – didn’t I mention? I’ve been asked to come back and emcee the conference!! Watch out DC for this southern accent -it’s gonna be a hoot! Can’t wait to see y’all in April!!
Grab your ticket - they are a great deal! And share a big room at The Hilton!
