Pursue The Word: Quiet

How would your day look if you pursue the word: quiet?

But first I want to share my new direction for 2013 …

I have noticed this attitude I hold, “let’s just survive until …”.

When hubs travels we’re surviving until he gets home. With homeschool we’re surviving until the lesson is done. (or I drop them off at public school).  Blogging conference tours, well I’m surviving little ones until the boys are older and I can go. etc. etc. etc.

I am not weary.  I am not depressed.  I am not stressed.

Yet I cling to a survival mentality throughout my day.  God is impressing upon me how much He wants me to do much more than survive this season of motherhood.  And I know no better place than to share it here with you.

I feel a push to use my gift of encouragement (and realness) to share with (young) moms more than I normally do.  I haven’t a clue what this looks like as far as post dates and what-not.  And I don’t care – I just want to be obedient.

You do not have to be a home educator to enjoy your children and/or read my words. You do not have to be a SAHM to enjoy your children and/or read my words. You just have to love and trust Jesus in this journey with me.

Let’s strive together to be more than surviving motherhood!

Pursue the Word: Quiet

I am a little overwhelmed how God showed me my word for 2013, which happened on January 1st! (I even shared with my email subscribers earlier that morning I had no word for 2013).

In the quiet of a long day alone … He was here.  My word for 2013 is quiet.  Not the volume type of quiet – although it’d be nice if I never shouted again, okay!  But more so the still, peaceful, ease of quiet.

Quiet in my heart.

Quiet in my head.

Quiet from the social media noise.

Quiet from the overwhelming disorganization.

Quiet time in The Word.

Quiet with my pictures.

Here are a few verses I am keeping close to heart this year ~ “quiet”.

Pursue the Word Quiet

Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. Proverbs 17:1

The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools. Ecclesiastes 9:17

{your beauty} should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 1 Peter 3:3

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. 1 Thessalonians 4:12

Beautiful! But I can’t imagine you being disorganized, you seem quite organized to me. I don’t have a 2013 word – I wanted one, but nothing came to me

My word for 2013 is Life. I feel a pull to have more life, more abundance, more growth, more living in my world… More Life. Jesus said it, “I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” That’s the kind of life I am praying for this year. :)
