Pursue the Word: Heard

Do you ever wonder if the Creator of the universe heard your prayer?

For a full year I prayed either my husband’s heart would soften toward having another child or God would change my heart to stop desiring a bigger family.  A year!

We had a two year old at the time. A handful. Yet every night I would ask God the same request, “soften his heart or change mine, but let us be in agreement”.

What felt like the dead of winter ~ cold and silent, I waited.

You can imagine a year of prayers, some nights in tears, waiting quietly might have felt grossly like my little heart went unheard.  I wanted to believe He heard me.

We need to believe He heard us!  Maybe you’ve been waiting longer than a year?

Heard

And the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people. 2 Chronicles 30:20

The LORD heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. 1 Kings 17:22

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6

{Leah} conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, “Because the LORD heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too.” So she named him Simeon. Genesis 29:33

we cried out to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. Deuteronomy 26:7

God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Genesis 21:17

Friend what I wouldn’t give to hold your hand and reassure you God’s Word repeats “the Lord heard”!

We may be required to wait.  We may have to swallow a “no”.

But trust in the fact that your Father heard you!  He hears you now and He delights to hear from you often!

Amen!! Love this post. I have to continually remind myself that all will come together in His time, which is difficult because I can be so impatient! :-)
