I have an idea to enhance spelling and reading skills …  WORD HUNTS!

Today’s free word hunt is all about Weather ! Ironically – we experienced a crazy storm while I was creating this! We were without power for over 4 hours.

Not a homeschooler – no worries.  You can also enhance spelling and reading skills at home.  All kids like word hunts!  They work the same for everyone.

These word hunts were created with my 9yr old in mind – they are not terribly difficult.  Stumping homeschoolers and crushing confidence was not the plan!  If your student does not understand or is not familiar with the word bank take some time to cover the words they are hunting!

I believe these fun easy hunts help children become familiar with words and word patterns and that leads to better spelling and reading skills.

Use these free word hunts as a fun springboard to a new lessons or wrap up a lesson with one of these printables.  Word hunts should not take the place of spelling or reading curriculum – it is a supplement for a topical lesson, some free time, or just because kids like to be challenged!
