Preschool Resolutions

We have had such a great 2011 – but I was really unintentional about our time.  This year I will make 10 “preschool resolutions” !!to enjoy more “just because” moments

to try new things

to relax more

to play more

to snuggle more

to smile more – especially when the camera isn’t on

to find new places to explore

to take the time, because I’m not too busy for him

and pace myself – this is a journey not a sprint

to always remember & cherish these moments – every single one of them !

Are you making some preschool resolutions ?

Happy New Year Preschool Friends – thanks Jolanthe for creating this community and always giving my boys something fun to do !!

Local Newspaper Field Trip

We just toured the local newspaper in Geneva, NY – The Finger Lakes Times !

Our uncle is the publisher – so we had a behind the scenes tour of the facility (which they do for schools – so ask your local newspaper for a tour).

We scheduled it just right so we could see them run the press!  Boy was it loud and running a newspaper takes a lot of work.  I am a little jealous the newspapers are folded – need to figure out why they haven’t done that for laundry machine driers!
newspaper field trip
We walked by each department to find out how a newspaper comes together and had the time to ask each employee what they do!  And even held the news before it hit the stands!

We were given blank newspapers to bring home and create our own news!  Great field trip – especially good for a smaller local newspaper.

Luray Caverns Field Trip

If you are anywhere near Luray Caverns on I81 in VA – stop by Luray Caverns – it is an amazing field trip !!

We left FL very early for VA (13 hour drive)

Once we got to VA – we stopped off for the evening at my friend Jolanthe’s house.  I was so thankful our kids enjoyed her kids so much !   In the morning (after a wonderful breakfast) we got on the road and read a bit more of Journey to the Center of the Earth before we arrived at Luray Caverns!

The Cavern was amazing – definitely our favorite field trip yet !!  Its a little over an hour tour ( 1mile hike).

We hit the road and headed up to NY after our tour.  It was 27* when we went to sleep and we woke up to snow!  Can’t wait to make snow angels and go ice skating !
