Very excited and encouraged by the reading this week! I love getting back into the history because I get so lost in the genealogy of it all. Saturdays and Sundays the reading is put off until evening – and its a double dose, but we get going and busy I just don’t have the discipline to read over the weekend. Thankfully – Sunday nights are great for catching up on an extra day of reading. As we fly into August I’m thinking – wow October is right around the corner. Just keep reading ~ 69 days left.
A few thoughts from the last few days …
Day 19 – Ruth 1:22 So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabite, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning. (God’s timing is beautiful)
Day 20 – 1 Samuel 10:6-7 The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you. vs 9 As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul’s heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day. (I want that kind of change)
1 Samuel 15:22 To obey is better than sacrifice
Day 21 – 1 Samuel 16:12 “He was glowing with health” (David)1 Samuel 17:48 David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him (Goliath. Do I run toward the battle or pray my way out of it for comfort’s sake).
1 Samuel 25:33 May you be blessed for your good judgment (Abigail. Twice in this chapter it states “Abigail quickly” – I’m feeling like she wasn’t one to be lazy. A wise decision maker is confident)
